Budapest Phonology Circle (BuPhoC) The Budapest Phonology Circle & Linguistics Discussion Group (BuPhoC) was launched in 1990 as a forum for phonologists and other linguists. In the 2010’s it faded into the research seminars of the English linguistics doctoral programme. Its successor is the Budapest Research Centre for Linguistic Theory. Work-in-Progress The Work-in-Progress seminar was launched in the Department of English Studies in October 2006 to discuss unpublished scholarly articles and book chapters written by faculty members and Ph.D. students. There is one seminar session each month during term time.
